How craftsmanship and compassion came together to bring warmth, dignity, and wellbeing to those who need it most.

A shared mission

For us at Auroom, wellness has always been about more than relaxation – it’s about care and human connection.
Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, we have been part of a remarkable project: Saunas for Ukraine (Eesti Saun Ukrainasse), a collective initiative uniting Estonian sauna and heater producers to send mobile sauna and washing complexes to Ukrainian troops.

What began as an ambitious idea has now become an emotional movement. From the start, the goal has been to deliver ten fully equipped mobile sauna units – giving soldiers in the field a place to wash themselves and their gear, dry off, rest, and feel human again.

The ninth sauna on the road

This autumn marked an important milestone: the ninth mobile sauna and washing complex set off from Estonia to Ukraine – and we’re proud to say this one was built by Auroom, the second unit we’ve contributed to the initiative.

Over two weeks, our team – from production to office – worked together after hours to make it happen, contributing wherever help was needed. Every stage, from construction to finishing touches, was handled with care and precision – preparing the wood, building the structure, treating surfaces, and assembling it all into one complete sauna and washing unit.

During those days, the workshop had a different rhythm – focused, determined, often lasting late into the night, and united by a shared goal.
Our Ukrainian colleagues were closely involved throughout the process, bringing their skill and dedication to a cause that feels deeply personal.

Once the sauna truck was complete, one of our team members joined the delivery group accompanying the convoy to Kyiv, helping to ensure the unit reached its destination safely. For everyone involved, watching the finished sauna leave the workshop was a moment of quiet pride – the result of teamwork, commitment, and genuine care.

Each mobile sauna is a fully functional space designed to bring comfort and dignity wherever it’s needed most.
This converted truck features HUUM wood-burning heater in an Auroom sauna, alongside showers, washing and drying machines, and clean water tanks with a purification system – all powered by a generator for complete off-grid use.

What might sound simple is, in reality, a lifeline. For those stationed far from home and without access to basic facilities, this space offers warmth, calm, and a chance to wash away fatigue – to feel human again. It’s a small oasis of normality in the middle of difficult circumstances.

Craftsmanship with a Purpose

Since February 2023, nine mobile sauna trucks have been completed and sent to Ukraine through the Saunad Ukrainasse initiative. Each one represents the combined effort of volunteers, companies, and communities across Estonia – people using their skills and time to create something that makes a small but real difference.

At Auroom, we’ve contributed materials, craftsmanship, and countless hours of voluntary work to two of these units so far. But what truly matters is the collective effort – the shared belief that small actions, when joined together, can bring genuine comfort to those facing hardship.
This project shows how care and collaboration can turn simple materials into something deeply meaningful.

Why We Do It

We do this because we care. Because while we can’t stop the injustice of war, we can help in the way we know best – by building spaces that offer warmth, humanity, and a moment of peace.

For those in Ukraine, these mobile saunas provide far more than physical relief. They offer a chance to pause, to feel clean, and to reconnect with a sense of normal life – even if only for a little while.

Our hope is simple: that in every drop of water, in every breath of warm air, there’s a reminder that the world has not forgotten them. And as we hear back from the warzone – these saunas and washing units are saving lives – and that truly warms our hearts.
